Chelsea and Super Eagles midfielder John Obi Mikel has refused to sign a contract extension with Chelsea amid interest from three Chinese clubs.
Mikel Obi's agent, John Shittu, says the midfielder has told the club to wait till the summer before he makes a decision on his future. Since the arrival of the new manager Guus Hiddink, the Nigerian international has been a regular figure in the starting 11 of the team.
Mikel has been able to break into last season’s regular partnership of Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas since Hiddink arrived. The Olympic silver medalist will become a free agent in 2017 and the club is keen for him to sign a new deal but he has refused to talk till the end of the season.
The 28-year-old is in his 10th season with Chelsea and promised to see out his contract before Mourinho was shown the door owing to his poor run of form. *Report sent in by Akan Anwankwo
